Arkansas has a draw permit program, hoping to get a draw. Will a compound bow fishing rig work yo contain a gator until a 12ga #4 shot can be used?Still resaearching arkansas rules but looks like shot gun required? Any recommendations?

From what I could find Arkansas allows you to use only a shot gun or bangstick loaded with a shot gun shell with no larger shot than #4 to kill the gator.
But the gator must be restrained first with a hand held restraining line by snare and /or harpoon. Not sure what is legal for a harpoon.
A crossbow will work provided you have a heavy enough line. If the gator is ten foot or bigger I recommend attaching second line using a snare or another harpoon. That allows you backup in case one line breaks or pulls out before you can kill the gator.
