When gluing the teeth back into the skull, do you place any kind of "backer" material in the sockets to hold the teeth at the proper depth? What about putting dowel rods in each tooth to keep them in place while the glue dries...would this be a good idea?

I have used both hot glue and Goop. I pretty much fill the hole with glue then set the tooth in place and wipe off any excess that comes out around the edges. A friend of mine uses white silicone or latex caulk with good results. These products do a good job of holding the tooth until they harden. I've had no problem maintaining the position and depth of the teeth this way.
